About the role

Become a Spurwink Special Education Teacher and help guide students with behavioral and developmental challenges towards successful outcomes in our Auburn Day Treatment Program. You'll be empowered to develop individualized learning plans in a therapeutic and supportive team environment.

Responsibilities

• Work with an educational and clinical team to develop and deliver educational programming for students with significant emotional, behavioral, academic, and mental health needs
• Implement CARE principles and deliver assessment tools
• Create lesson plans and write Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Coordinate with the clinical team and supervise educational technicians
• Involvement in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) safety restraints, Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) services, Individualized Service Plans (ISP), and IEP tracking
• Establish a culture of learning and respect while nurturing individual relationships with students

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• Maine State certification as Teacher of Exceptional Students (282) or Teacher of Students with Severe Intellectual and Associated Impairments (286), appropriate to the position and age level of students, or eligibility for conditional certification as a special education teacher

Pay

Starting salary for this position is $56,160.
