Special Education Teacher (Grades K-3) - Self Contained

About the role

New Haven Public Schools seeks a Teacher-Special Education to join our dedicated team. The position is available in Comprehensive Grades K-12 Special Education (certifications 165, 065, 051, 053).

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized instruction to students with special educational needs.
• Collaborate with other educators, parents, and specialists to develop and implement effective educational plans.
• Evaluate student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
• Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills.

Requirements

• Must possess and maintain a Special Education certification as required by Connecticut State Statutes.
• Experience working with students in grades K-12 is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
• At least three years of teaching experience in a special education setting.
• Knowledge of current special education practices and trends.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $53,220 - $108,047, contingent upon degree and years of experience.
