About the role

New Haven Public Schools seeks a dedicated and experienced Teacher-Special Education to join our team. The position is available for the 25-26 and 26-27 school years, with salaries ranging from $51,421 to $104,297 and $53,220 to $108,047 respectively.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized instruction to students with special needs
  • Collaborate with other educators, parents, and specialists to develop and implement effective educational plans
  • Evaluate student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills
  • Assist in creating a safe and inclusive learning environment

Requirements

  • Must possess and maintain a Special Education certification as required by Connecticut State Statutes
  • Comprehensive Grades K-12 Certification (165)

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of special education principles and practices
  • Experience working with diverse student populations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and families
