The Margaret Chase Smith Community School is seeking a Regular Education Teacher to support learning for special education students in Grades K-5.
About the role
- Support students with diverse needs in a collaborative classroom setting
- Implement differentiated instruction to meet individual student needs
- Collaborate with special education teachers and other school staff to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Responsibilities
- Teach core academic subjects aligned with Maine Learning Results
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction as needed
Requirements
- Current Maine certification in Regular Education
- Experience working with students with special educational needs
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
- Passport to Teaching certification preferred
