Special Education Teacher, Full Time 2026-2027

Dover-Eyota High School is seeking a Special Education paraprofessional for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time (35 hr/week) position begins with the start of the school year. About the role

Special Education paraprofessionals support students receiving special education services throughout the school day. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers, specialists, and other staff to provide direct instructional and/or behavioral support to students.

Responsibilities

• Be knowledgeable about all district policies and procedures
• Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with other staff
• Support individual and/or groups of students receiving special education services in both academic and behavioral settings

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Ability to pass competency test OR two-year degree
• Strong work ethic, high ethical standards, self-confidence, good time-management skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including communication and listening skills
• Positive, professional, and collaborative with others
• Enthusiastic about working with young people

Skills

• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Patience with students
• Problem solving with little guidance
• Managing multiple tasks and priorities
• Ability to use Google and Google features to complete daily tasks
• Personalized Care Assistant (PCA) training is a plus and may be required for certain student assignments

Pay

Hourly pay $16-18, depending on experience and qualifications.
