Special Education Teacher - Developmental Disabilities
About the role
The Special Education Teacher - DD role designs, implements, and oversees the educational services for students in the year round special purpose schools. The Special Education Teacher is an integral member of the multidisciplinary education and treatment teams and supports implementation plan of each student’s positive behavioral support plan within the educational setting.

- Supports implementation of each student’s positive behavioral support plan within the educational setting.
Requirements
- Maine Department of Education: Certification 282 – Teacher of Children with Disabilities required.
- One year of teaching experience with children with developmental disabilities preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education or related field required.
- Master’s Degree preferred.
Skills
- Knowledge and skills necessary to provide education and care to students’ ages 5-6.

Pay
$56,721.60 to $76,710.40 per year.
Schedule
Compensation for part-time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
