Pay

$64,575/year, sign-on bonus available

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM, 37.5 hrs./week

Responsibilities

• Lead a collaborative team and manage all aspects of your classroom environment
• Provide tailored instruction to meet each student’s unique needs
• Coordinate with professionals from various disciplines
• Serve as the case manager responsible for overseeing the progress and support of your assigned students
• Establish and monitor individual casebooks, data collection, and charting systems
• Manage behavioral challenges
• Supervise and manage activities of aides assigned to the classroom
• Assure that appropriate curriculum is established and implemented
• Organize an effective classroom environment
• Administer appropriate and effective instructional strategies
• Coordinate and collaborate with Support Service Personnel
• Collaborate and effectively communicate with families and external service providers
• Demonstrate professional knowledge of children with developmental disabilities
• Demonstrate professional writing skills
• Assure deadlines are met

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education required, Master’s degree in Special Education preferred
• NYS Special Education Permanent certificate or Students with Disabilities certificate or actively working toward certification
