About the role
A Special Education Teacher position is available at Booth Hill School for the 2026/2027 school year. The position is one-year only.
Responsibilities
- Teach students with special needs according to the Individualized Education Program (IEP)
- Implement classroom management strategies to ensure a safe and productive learning environment
- Collaborate with other educators, parents, and support staff to develop and implement educational plans
- Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills
Requirements
- Valid Connecticut certification
- Appropriate special education endorsement
- Strong knowledge of special education principles and practices
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
- Knowledge of special education laws and regulations
