Job Description And Responsibilities This is a full-time, on-site role as a Special Education Teacher serving a school located in Phoenix, AZ. The Special Education Teacher (SPED) will be responsible for providing teaching and case management services to students, conducting assessments, developing IEP plans, evaluating progress, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams (therapists, educators, parents). The role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a passion for working with students with special needs. Job Details Full-time, 37.5 hours/week2026-2027 School year, August - May/JuneOn-site, in-personK - 12 grades Job duties: educational services, case management, evaluationsDual support from the District and TheraPedsCompetitive payGuaranteed hours, including documentation, administrative and planning time$55 - $75+/hour ($2,062-$2812/week+) Responsibilities Develop, implement, and assess individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilitiesDeliver instruction tailored to meet the diverse learning styles and needs of studentsCollaborate with parents, educators, and specialists to ensure a comprehensive approach to student learning and supportMonitor student progress and adapt instructional strategies to improve outcomesMaintain accurate records of student performance, behavior, and progress to inform ongoing instruction and planningCreate a welcoming, safe, and productive classroom environment that encourages positive behavior and learningProvide guidance and support to classroom staff in implementing educational strategies for students with special needs Requirements Teaching Certification, Bachelors or Masters Degree or higher in Special EducationState License as as SPED teacher1+ years of experience in a school setting preferredExperience working with childrenOrganizational and time management skillsProficient in use of technologyFingerprint background clearanceAbility to collaborate with school staff and parents with a demonstrated ability to exercise a high level of tact and discretion in both internal and external communications Physical Requirements Working and playing with students requires that employees must be able to perform the necessary physical movement functions, as needed, such as lifting, sitting, walking, standing, crawling, and engaging with students in all physical locations and activities, while adhering to the duties outlined by the district.
