Job Summary

A Special Education Teacher is needed at The Groden School in Providence, RI. The position offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus, small class size, exceptional support team, and competitive benefits package.

About the Role

This is a full-time position (M-F 8:15AM-3:30PM; Tuesdays are 8:15AM-4:15PM) for a classroom serving middle school students with disabilities in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate individualized student programs
  • Develop and monitor IEP goals and instructional plans
  • Create structured, engaging learning environments
  • Schedule, implement, and oversee daily programming
  • Collaborate with behavior specialists, therapists, families, and support staff
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of student and staff documentation
  • Foster a classroom culture that supports learning, communication, and positive behavior

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Rhode Island Department of Education certification in Severe/Profound Special Education (Emergency Certifications considered)
  • CPR/First Aid Certification (training provided if needed)
  • Safety Care Training (training provided if needed)
  • At least one year of experience as a special education teacher (preferred)

  • Genuine passion for supporting children with complex learning needs

Skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices in special education
  • Experience with data collection and analysis

$60,000 - $90,738 Annually (Based on education & experience)
