About the Role

The Groden School in Providence, RI (East Side) is seeking a Special Education Teacher for a RIDE-approved classroom serving 12-15 year old students. This established program serves young learners with disabilities in a nurturing, innovative, and highly individualized environment—currently with eight (8) students.

Your Impact

As the classroom teacher, you will:

  • Lead and coordinate individualized student programs
  • Develop and monitor IEP goals and instructional plans
  • Design structured, engaging learning environments that promote growth and independence
  • Schedule, implement, and oversee daily programming
  • Collaborate closely with behavior specialists, therapists, families, and support staff
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of student and staff documentation
  • Foster a classroom culture that supports learning, communication, and positive behavior

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's preferred)
  • Rhode Island Department of Education certification in Severe/Profound Special Education (Emergency Certifications will be considered)
  • CPR/First Aid Certification (training provided if needed)
  • Safety Care Training (training provided if needed)
  • At least one year of experience as a special education teacher is preferred
  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with complex learning needs

Pay

$60,000 – $90,738 annually (Based on education & experience)

Schedule

Monday–Friday; 8:15AM–3:30PM; Tuesdays are 8:15AM–4:15PM
