About the role

Strides Therapy & Educational Services is a leading local provider of contract therapy and educational services dedicated to enhancing the educational experience of students in schools across Alaska. We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Special Educator to join our team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement customized instructional plans to meet the unique needs of each student, focusing on communication and language skills.
  • Work collaboratively with other Special Educators (Exceptional Student Educators) and educational professionals to ensure a cohesive support system for students.
  • Regularly assess students' progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed to promote growth and achievement.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with students, families, and school staff to facilitate student success and address any concerns or challenges.
  • Stay current with best practices and research in special education to enhance your skills and knowledge continuously.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Valid and current certification as a Special Educator in Alaska (if applicable).
  • Educator Certificate (if applicable).
  • Experience working with students with diverse learning needs.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Dedication to ongoing professional growth and development in the field of special education.
