About the role
Strides Therapy & Educational Services is a leading local provider of contract therapy and educational services dedicated to enhancing the educational experience of students in schools across Alaska. We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Special Educator to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement customized instructional plans to meet the unique needs of each student, focusing on communication and language skills.
- Work collaboratively with other Special Educators (Exceptional Student Educators) and educational professionals to ensure a cohesive support system for students.
- Regularly assess students' progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed to promote growth and achievement.
- Maintain open and effective communication with students, families, and school staff to facilitate student success and address any concerns or challenges.
- Stay current with best practices and research in special education to enhance your skills and knowledge continuously.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid and current certification as a Special Educator in Alaska (if applicable).
- Educator Certificate (if applicable).
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Dedication to ongoing professional growth and development in the field of special education.
