Role Overview

UD Team teachers are dynamic, data-driven educators dedicated to a student-paced, competency-based curriculum. They foster high student achievement, embrace challenges with flexibility, and support at-risk students through leadership and understanding of diverse needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Co-teach five classes in an inclusive environment
  • Support students with special needs using SDI and develop IEPs
  • Manage behavior with restorative practices and PBIS
  • Collaborate with teams to create individualized learning plans
  • Track student progress and set growth goals
  • Participate in school events, mentorship, and professional development
  • Fulfill broader school roles and responsibilities

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred
  • NY State Certification
  • Experience in transfer or alternative schools is a plus
  • Proficiency in Google Applications; SESIS knowledge preferred
  • Ability to design multi-tiered classroom and behavior plans for various disabilities
  • Strong multitasking, communication, teamwork, and independent working skills
  • Passion for serving at-risk youth and commitment to restorative practices

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary ranges from $70,969 to $114,450 annually based on experience and education
