Role Overview
UD Team teachers are dynamic, data-driven educators dedicated to a student-paced, competency-based curriculum. They foster high student achievement, embrace challenges with flexibility, and support at-risk students through leadership and understanding of diverse needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Co-teach five classes in an inclusive environment
- Support students with special needs using SDI and develop IEPs
- Manage behavior with restorative practices and PBIS
- Collaborate with teams to create individualized learning plans
- Track student progress and set growth goals
- Participate in school events, mentorship, and professional development
- Fulfill broader school roles and responsibilities
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred
- NY State Certification
- Experience in transfer or alternative schools is a plus
- Proficiency in Google Applications; SESIS knowledge preferred
- Ability to design multi-tiered classroom and behavior plans for various disabilities
- Strong multitasking, communication, teamwork, and independent working skills
- Passion for serving at-risk youth and commitment to restorative practices
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary ranges from $70,969 to $114,450 annually based on experience and education
