Special Education Teacher

Putnam Elementary School is seeking an innovative and motivated resource special education teacher to shape student-centered programs for grades 1 through 4. A strong candidate will creatively and collaboratively work with special education teachers and support staff to design learning experiences that support student growth and achievement. The school offers a strong, collaborative culture of caring educators who leverage resources to nurture and challenge students, with district-wide alignment across all three schools.

Responsibilities

• Implementing individualized education plans
• Administering assessments
• De-escalation techniques
• Collaborating with general education teachers and related service providers

Requirements

• CT Certification 165 - Comprehensive Special Education, K-12; or
• CT Certification 065 - Comprehensive Special Education, PK-12; or
• CT Certification 265 - Comprehensive Special Education, 1-12; or
• Eligibility for certification

Start date: 2026-2027 school year.
