About the role

The successful candidate will teach mathematics to special education students in an inclusive setting.

Responsibilities

  • Teach mathematics to students with diverse needs in an inclusive classroom setting.
  • Organize content into engaging and accessible lessons for students.
  • Implement instructional strategies that support student growth and development.
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Maintain a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community.

Requirements

  • New Jersey instructional certificate and appropriate endorsements.
  • Excellent experience in teaching and working with children.
  • Knowledge of child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment, and research related to learning.
  • Positive interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community.
  • Ability to maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Current residency in New Jersey, approved residency waiver, or agreement to obtain residency within one year of employment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and concisely in English, both orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabulary.
  • Excellent integrity and good moral character.
  • Ability to use electronic equipment for work processing, data management, information retrieval, visual presentations, and telecommunications.

Qualifications

  • Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
  • Criminal record history check clearance from the Department of Education.
  • Sworn statement indicating no conviction of a crime or disorderly person’s offense within the initial six months of employment.
  • Evidence of adequate health to fulfill job functions and responsibilities with reasonable accommodation.
  • Pass the state required Mantoux Intradermal Tubulin Test.

Pay

Salary Range For Teachers New To The District: BA/Step 1 - $71,538.00 to DOC/Step 11 - $82,139.00
