About the role

Arisa Health is seeking a Special Education Teacher for its Therapeutic Day Treatment program in Siloam Springs. The ideal candidate must have a current Arkansas Special Education Teaching certification or a current Arkansas Teaching certification and be willing to obtain certification in Special Education. A bachelor's degree is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide classroom instruction to students with emotional and behavioral difficulties.
  • Work collaboratively with a team to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans, 504s, and behavioral/functional support plans.
  • Collaborate with families, school staff, and other professionals to ensure continuity of care.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training.

Requirements

  • Current Arkansas Special Education Teaching certification or current Arkansas Teaching certification and willingness to obtain certification in Special Education.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience working with Individualized Education Plans, 504s, and behavioral/functional support plans.
  • Experience with statewide testing.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team, good communication skills, patience, flexibility, and good time management skills.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with students with emotional and behavioral difficulties.
  • Knowledge of educational strategies and techniques appropriate for students with special needs.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of special education teaching methodologies.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Proficiency in using technology to enhance learning experiences.
  • Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.

Pay

The Special Education teacher position is classified as full-time, exempt (salaried).

Schedule

Work hours are Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. during the academic year.
