Primary Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee special education caseloads in compliance with federal, state, and district regulations
- Coordinate and facilitate IEP meetings and annual reviews
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, progress monitoring, and compliance records
- Collaborate with general education teachers, service providers, administrators, and families to support student success
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned students and families
- Provide direct instruction and/or specially designed instruction as assigned
- Support the implementation of accommodations, modifications, and individualized educational programming
- Participate in virtual staff meetings, professional development, and team collaboration activities
Requirements
- Required Qualifications: Active South Dakota Special Education Teacher Certification (REQUIRED)
- Certification must be active and in good standing prior to the start of employment
- Minimum of one year of experience in special education case management and/or instruction preferred
- Strong knowledge of IDEA regulations, IEP development, and special education compliance requirements
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with school teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience providing virtual instruction or services
- Experience managing a large or diverse special education caseload
- Familiarity with online IEP management systems and virtual learning platforms
