Requirements

  • The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
    • Masters's degree in Special education, or a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 18 credits in special education and 6 credits in education theory.
    • Must possess a Pennsylvania Special Education certificate; or a Pennsylvania Private Academic certification with ability to attain public certification within one year from date of hire will be considered.

About the role

We are seeking a Special Education Teacher to join our team at our school (K-12) in Scranton, PA.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized instruction in an individualized program for students to empower them to become happy, confident, and productive members of their community.
  • Create and coordinate student schedules with related services and general education.
  • Collect and analyze student data and monitor student progress.
  • Effectively work with a large team of professionals to coordinate services.
  • Participate in several staff development training courses that focus on working with students with Autism.
  • Implement state of the art strategies to work effectively with students with Autism.
