About the role

Lester Prairie School is seeking a 1.0 FTE Elementary Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 School Year.

Responsibilities

  • Create lessons and learning environments that are appropriate for all students with varying levels of skills.
  • Assess students' developmental, cognitive, and social needs and provide developmentally appropriate instruction to meet those needs.
  • Establish developmentally appropriate instructional and behavioral expectations for students and share with students and families.
  • Regularly assess student learning by using multiple forms of assessment.
  • Maintain good communication and cooperation with staff and parents.

Requirements

  • A valid MN SPED licensure.

Qualifications

  • Experience with special education curriculum and techniques.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Skills

  • Effective teaching strategies for special education students.
  • Ability to collaborate with other educators and support staff.
  • Knowledge of educational assessments and interventions.

Pay

  • Salary Range: $44,582 - $83,214 depending on education and experience.

Schedule

  • Start Date: August 24, 2026.
  • 181 duty days.
