Special Education Teacher

About the role

The LENAPE REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking a Special Education Teacher to join our team at SHAMONG, NEW JERSEY. This position is an interim appointment and may be transferred to another district within the LENAPE SHAWNEE CHEROKEE SENECA SEQUOIA DISTRICT.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to students with special needs in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Collaborate with other educators, parents, and related service providers to develop and implement effective educational plans.
• Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly to meet individual needs.
• Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

Requirements

• Dual certification in any secondary area preferred.
• A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Valid New Jersey Teaching Certificate.
• Experience working with students with special needs is preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of people.
• Knowledge of current special education practices and trends.

Skills

• Excellent classroom management skills.
• Proficiency in using assistive technology.
• Ability to adapt teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles.

$71,897 - $75,597 Salary Guide, BA Step 1
