About the role
The Killingly Memorial School is seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. CT Certification 165 or 065 is required.
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized instruction to students with special needs
- Collaborate with other educators, parents, and support staff to develop and implement educational plans
- Evaluate student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
- Participate in IEP meetings and other related professional development activities
Requirements
- Current CT certification in Special Education
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
- Experience working with students with special needs
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of professionals
Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of current special education practices and trends
- Ability to manage a classroom effectively
Skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in using technology for lesson planning and student assessment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
