About the role
In this position, you will be able to convey your passion for helping others with a dynamic team by bringing an energetic and positive approach while working with our youth.
Responsibilities
- Create and implement structured lesson plans
- Build a therapeutic rapport with our youth
- Work collaboratively with our special education team to provide the best academics for our youth
- Attend meetings with family members, collaterals and other teams to address any of the youth’s academic needs
- Help our youth discover what makes them feel competent and valued by working with them to develop important life skills
- Support them in developing a sense of self and provide them the skills to be successful in their next steps
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age
- Must be licensed by the Massachusetts DESE for Special Education Moderate Disabilities 5-12
- Relevant experience with grades 5-12 preferred
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and leadership abilities
- Knowledge of the needs of the population served; understanding of the range of interventions and treatment required by this population
- Maintains valid driver’s license as transporting students is required
