About the role
Anchor Academy is a therapeutic day school specializing in trauma-informed services for students ages 10-22 with complex trauma histories, mental health issues, educational challenges, and/or behavioral difficulties. The ideal candidate will provide a supportive environment addressing education, clinical, pre-vocational, recreational, and behavioral needs through a collaborative interdisciplinary approach.
Responsibilities
- Teach middle and high school aged students using the Massachusetts Curriculum Framework and Common Core English Language Arts Standards.
- Utilize an interdisciplinary approach collaborating with the educational, clinical, nursing, and vocational departments.
- Work with students in a clinically appropriate manner while maintaining a challenging learning environment.
- Experience working with students in an alternative school setting is preferred.
Requirements
- Massachusetts teaching certification by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and leadership abilities.
- Knowledge of the needs of the population served; understanding of the range of interventions and treatment required by this population.
- Background Check: Acceptable CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) and OIG background check.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $52,000 to $94,000 per year. The actual compensation an employee is offered may vary based on several factors such as experience, education, licensure, certifications, and qualifications.
