Special Education Teacher

Responsibilities

• Create and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs
• Teach students using modified curricula and adaptive techniques
• Assess academic and behavioral progress and adjust plans accordingly
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents
• Implement strategies for positive behavior and effective classroom management
• Deliver specialized instruction, support student growth, and foster positive learning environments
• Coordinate with stakeholders to promote student success

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
• Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement
