About the role
Green Tree School & Services in Philadelphia provides full-time, out-of-district programs for students with autism and emotional support needs. Responsibilities
- Design and deliver individualized instruction tailored to each student’s individual goals
- Foster a supportive classroom environment
- Collaborate closely with therapists, counselors, and families to promote each student’s academic, social, and emotional growth
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), lesson plans, and instructional strategies
- Maintain accurate documentation, including IEPs, progress reports, and evaluation summaries
- Collaborate with therapists, counselors, and families to support student progress and consistency across settings
- Manage classroom structure and implement behavior support strategies to promote positive outcomes
- Conduct assessments, track progress, and monitor behavior data to inform instruction and interventions
Requirements
- Active Pennsylvania Teaching Certification, such as a Private Academic Certificate or Level I/II PA Instructional Special Education Certification (K–12)
- Candidates with a bachelor’s degree and at least six credit hours in special education may qualify for a Temporary Private Academic Certificate Authorization to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to inclusive practices, student safety, and professional growth
