About the role
This is a wonderful opportunity to work with elementary students in a small, supportive classroom environment. In this role, you’ll have the chance to make a meaningful impact each day—helping students build communication, social, and academic skills in a structured and nurturing setting.
Responsibilities
- Providing individualized instruction and behavioral support for students with Autism
- Implementing and tracking IEP goals
- Collaborating with teachers, families, and service providers
- Using evidence-based strategies to promote communication, social skills, and independence
- Creating a positive, structured classroom environment that encourages student growth
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- Valid Virginia Special Education license or eligibility for licensure
- Experience working with students with Autism or developmental disabilities
- Strong communication, collaboration, and behavior management skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and drive
- Light lifting (up to 50 lbs.) may be required
- Visual and auditory acuity to meet the needs of students
