About the role

This is a wonderful opportunity to work with elementary students in a small, supportive classroom environment. In this role, you’ll have the chance to make a meaningful impact each day—helping students build communication, social, and academic skills in a structured and nurturing setting.

Responsibilities

  • Providing individualized instruction and behavioral support for students with Autism
  • Implementing and tracking IEP goals
  • Collaborating with teachers, families, and service providers
  • Using evidence-based strategies to promote communication, social skills, and independence
  • Creating a positive, structured classroom environment that encourages student growth

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Valid Virginia Special Education license or eligibility for licensure
  • Experience working with students with Autism or developmental disabilities
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and behavior management skills

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and drive
  • Light lifting (up to 50 lbs.) may be required
  • Visual and auditory acuity to meet the needs of students
