Location: Foley Elementary School, a preK-3 primary school with 620 students and approximately 100 staff members.
Start date: August 25, 2026.
About the role
As part of the elementary special education team, you will work with students who have a wide range of abilities in an engaging, respectful classroom environment.
Responsibilities
- Write and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Conduct IEP meetings with parents and stakeholders.
- Assess student learning and collect and analyze data to plan instruction.
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, and multiple stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records and supervise students.
- Manage educational assistants and scheduling.
- Participate in school improvement initiatives and ongoing professional learning.
Requirements
- Current Minnesota special education teaching license.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Knowledge of due process, including referral, assessment procedures, and writing IEPs, Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA), and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP).
- Trained or willing to be trained in Handle With Care, Structured Teach, and STAR.
