About the role
EDU-AIDS is seeking a passionate and qualified Special Education Teacher for a full-time, school-based assignment in Bronx, NY for the 2026–2027 academic year. This position offers the opportunity to work with students across elementary, middle, and high school while fostering an engaging and inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver specialized instruction designed to meet the unique learning needs of students with disabilities.
- Create, implement, and review Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to support student achievement.
- Monitor academic, behavioral, and functional progress while maintaining timely and accurate documentation.
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers, therapists, administrators, and families to ensure student success.
- Adapt curriculum, instructional strategies, and classroom accommodations to support diverse learners.
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and multidisciplinary team discussions while ensuring compliance with all educational regulations.
- Promote a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student growth and independence.
Requirements
- Active New York State Special Education Teaching certification.
- Minimum of one year of experience working as a Special Education Teacher.
- Knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, differentiated instruction, and classroom management practices.
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
- A commitment to supporting students with diverse educational and behavioral needs.
Qualifications
