Special Education Teacher

About the role

The Special Education Teacher is responsible for providing instruction and support to students with special needs within the District. This position requires a deep understanding of educational strategies and resources tailored to meet individual student needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students based on their unique learning needs.
• Collaborate with other educators, parents, and specialists to ensure that students receive comprehensive support and accommodations.
• Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching methods accordingly to optimize learning outcomes.
• Participate in professional development activities to stay updated on best practices in special education.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Special Education from an accredited institution.
• A current teaching license in Special Education.
• Experience working with students with disabilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of federal and state laws related to special education.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $45,000 - $55,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
