Summary

Kenosha School of Technology Enhanced Curriculum (KTEC) seeks candidates to support and teach students in grades 4K-12, with a focus on special education. The school prepares students for post-secondary education and workforce readiness through competency-based learning.

Essential Functions

  • Demonstrate commitment to creating a classroom environment aligned with KTEC's mission, vision, and values, tailored to students with disabilities.
  • Seek and use feedback for personal growth and innovation, focusing on special education pedagogy.
  • Utilize active listening and perspective-taking to understand unique challenges faced by students with disabilities.
  • Serve as an active member of the professional learning community, sharing insights and strategies for supporting students with disabilities.
  • Manage classroom activities, preparing and implementing teaching strategies that emphasize differentiation and scaffolding to meet the needs of students with disabilities.
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues to foster an inclusive community for students with disabilities.
  • Organize and facilitate special activities for students, ensuring accessibility and engagement.
  • Design, deliver, and assess nature-based, inquiry-based, and project-based learning, integrating content standards and considering language acquisition and proficiency levels of students with disabilities.

Experience, Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor’s degree in education.
  • A current Teaching License issued by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
  • Evidence of competencies in classroom management, learning strategies, individual and group management, curriculum development, and program evaluation.

  • Organize and present ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Think creatively and solve problems outside the box.
  • Integrate technology into instruction.
  • Set and meet goals and outcomes as a self-starter.
  • Knowledge of competency-based learning.
  • Ability to write and report on student Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Work Environment / Physical Demands

  • Normal office/classroom environment with moderate noise levels.
  • Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive wrist/hand/finger movements to work on computers and/or related equipment.
