About the role
Birch Academy is a 10-month specialized school, approved by the New Hampshire Department of Education. Our program supports children with primary special education needs related to autism or developmental delays. We focus on building an academic foundation, leveraging each student’s strengths, and fostering independence through functional communication and adaptive skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students in various settings.
- Collaborate with parents and caregivers to establish effective home-school partnerships.
- Use data-driven practices to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and other relevant meetings.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress and activities.
Qualifications
- Valid state teaching certification with a special education endorsement.
- A Master's degree in Special Education or related field (preferred).
- A Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (required).
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including autism spectrum disorder, developmental disabilities, and behavior.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
