Special Education Teacher

About the role

K–8 charter school in Denver, NC, seeks an EC Teacher for the 2026–27 school year. The position is in a self-contained, extended-content classroom serving six students in grades 2–8, supported by one to two returning, experienced teaching assistants.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and assess instruction aligned to the NC DPI Adapted Curriculum for students with significant cognitive disabilities.
• Collaborate with a small, stable team to implement individualized supports and behavior plans.
• Engage families and related service providers to ensure continuity of services.

Qualifications

• Current North Carolina DPI license in EC Adapted Curriculum K–12.
• One year of EC teaching experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated passion for student success and a commitment to inclusive, student-centered practice.
• Prior experience with ECATS is a plus.

Schedule

• School hours: 7:15 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

• $45 per hour.
