Special Education Teacher
Position Overview: We’re seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join a supportive school environment for the upcoming 2026–2027 academic year. This role is ideal for an educator who thrives in structured settings, values collaboration, and is committed to delivering high-quality, individualized instruction.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction aligned to student IEPs
- Support academic and behavioral growth through targeted interventions
- Collaborate with general education staff and support teams
- Maintain compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
- Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations
- Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment (preferred)
- State Teacher Certification (Standard Elementary, Secondary, or Special Teaching preferred)
- Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
- Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
