Special Education Teacher
About the Role
Amergis is hiring a qualified Special Education Teacher for an in-person, school-based assignment in Northern California. This role supports students in educational settings and collaborates with school-based teams to meet student needs.
Grade Level: Elementary (Resource and Self Contained). Available for a full school year contract, full-time, in-person, Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities
The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, provides quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12. Responsibilities include:
- Commitment to team participation in planning and implementation of student programs
- Special instruction and tutorial assistance
- Consultation with general education staff
Requirements
- Active state license or credential required
- School-based experience preferred
- In-person availability required
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred
- Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations
- Minimum of one year experience in a teaching environment preferred
- State Teacher Certification (Standard Elementary, Secondary, or Special Teaching preferred)
- Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
- Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Pay
$52–$55 per hour. Competitive weekly pay with local and travel options available. Travel pay packages available for positions 50+ miles away from your residence.
