Special Education Teacher
Start Date: August 24, 2026 – 37-week contract, 35 hours per week
About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support middle school students in a self-contained classroom setting in San Francisco, CA. The ideal candidate will provide specialized instruction, collaborate with staff and families, and help students achieve academic and developmental success.

Requirements
- Valid California Special Education Teaching Credential
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
- Minimum of one year of teaching experience (preferred)
- State Teacher Certification in Standard Elementary, Secondary, or Special Teaching (preferred)
- Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) endorsement (preferred)
- CPR certification (if applicable)
- TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray (if applicable)
- Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Pay
- Local SPED Teacher: $55/hour (up to $1,925/week)
- Travel SPED Teacher: Up to $2,600/week
Schedule
- Monday–Friday
- 35 hours per week
