About the role

Develops individual goals and objectives that reflect each student's abilities, needs, and interests. Implements lesson plans focused on student learning. Provides progress updates through grades. Administers and interprets formal and informal student assessments, including maintenance, review, and interpretation of data on student progress.

Serves as a member of an instructional team to ensure services are individualized, high quality, effective, and consistent with current best professional practices. Provides support and supervision to assigned education assistants and instructional aides, including the treatment team. Prepares reports for and attends IEP meetings. Provides consistent communication to parents, guardians, school districts, and outside providers in conjunction with team members. Supervises students during the course of the school day. Collaborates with other educators, therapists, and support staff to create a supportive learning environment. Monitors student progress and adjusts teaching strategies as necessary. Ensures compliance with educational standards. Contributes to the overall development and well-being of students. Operates company vehicle as needed. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree [Required]
  • 3+ years of experience [Preferred]
  • State Teaching License (TL) Endorsement (LBS1) [Required]
  • OR at least one disability served by school [Required]

Qualifications

  • State Teaching License (TL) [Required]
  • Learning Behavior Specialist 1 (LBS1) Endorsement (LBS1) [Required]
  • Driver's License (DL) [Required]
  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Preferred]

Skills

  • Ability to develop individualized lesson plans
  • Proficiency in administering and interpreting student assessments
  • Experience working with diverse student populations
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to supervise and mentor educational assistants and aides
