About the Role
Special Education Teacher Assistants play a vital role in supporting the academic, behavioral, and health/hygiene needs of students as directed by Special Education Teachers. Successful candidates will assist students with specialized needs to achieve their goals and reach their highest potential.
Responsibilities
- Support academic, behavioral, and health/hygiene needs of students under the direction of Special Education Teachers
- Apply general written and verbal guidance to specific work situations
- Lift and move up to thirty pounds without assistance or assist with lifting and moving up to fifty pounds
Requirements
- Desire to assist students with specialized needs
- Knowledge (or ability to obtain knowledge) of best practices for working with children and young adults with specialized needs
Pay
$21.25 per hour
Schedule
- Typical thirty-five hour work week
- Work calendar with 12 paid holidays
- Winter, spring, and summer breaks off each year
