About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Special Education teacher certified to teach elementary and middle school to join our team at Newfane Middle School.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with New York State learning standards.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Create a supportive and structured classroom environment that encourages student engagement and curiosity.
- Absess student learning through formative and summative assessments and provide constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and support staff to enhance student achievement and well-being.
- Integrate technology and innovative instructional strategies into lessons to support student learning.
- Establish strong relationships with students, parents, and the school community.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in differentiated instruction and the ability to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students, including those with diverse learning needs. The candidate will also be trauma-informed and skilled in creating personalized learning plans that address each student's social, emotional, and academic needs.
Qualifications
- Special Education certification in grades 1-6 {9014} and/or Students with Disabilities (All Grades) {0254}.
- Middle school extensions or certifications preferred.

Pay
Competitive salary from $51,031.00 to $55,268.00 per year, starting salary dependent upon qualifications and experience.
Schedule
Appointment status: Probationary. Position status: Full time. Start date: September 2, 2026.
