The Pediatric Place is hiring a Special Education Teacher in Clinton, MO to support students in our Alternative Placement Site. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs
  • Create and maintain a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Utilize learning technology to enhance educational outcomes
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student learning needs
  • Manage classroom behavior and dynamics effectively
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed
  • Collaborate with parents, caregivers, therapists, and other professionals
  • Maintain accurate educational records and documentation
  • Support students’ social, emotional, and academic development

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education required
  • Certification in Special Education required
  • Prior experience working with children in a special education setting preferred
  • Knowledge of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Ability to work collaboratively with families and interdisciplinary teams
  • Commitment to creating inclusive and supportive learning environments

Skills

  • Strong classroom management abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt instruction for diverse learning styles
  • Knowledge of special education best practices
  • Compassionate and patient approach to working with children
  • Experience with alternative teaching methodologies such as Montessori is a plus

Pay

Competitive compensation ranging from $35–$40 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
