About the role

The Puyallup Open Doors program is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Special Education teacher to provide specialized support for students with diverse learning needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized support for students with diverse learning needs, ensuring they meet all academic requirements and achieve their educational goals.
  • Work with students using Edmentum, a digital curriculum accessible both during and outside of school hours.
  • Create and implement Mastery-Based Projects tailored to each student's learning needs.
  • Support the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Foster an inclusive environment where all students can succeed.

Requirements

  • Hold or be able to obtain a teaching certificate with OSPI, including the appropriate endorsement.

Qualifications

  • Passport to Teaching endorsement preferred.

Skills

  • Passion for supporting diverse learners.
  • Ability to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
