Special Education Supervisor

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced educational leader to serve as the Principal of our high school. The successful candidate will provide visionary leadership, foster a positive school culture, and ensure high academic achievement for all students. This role requires a strong commitment to equity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of the school’s vision, mission, and strategic goals.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for students and staff.
  • Oversee curriculum development, instructional practices, and assessment to ensure alignment with state and national standards.
  • Manage school operations, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Build strong relationships with students, staff, parents, and the broader community.
  • Evaluate and support teacher and staff performance through coaching, professional development, and feedback.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local education laws and policies.
  • Lead initiatives to close achievement gaps and improve student outcomes.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in education, educational leadership, or a related field (required).
  • Valid Michigan Administrator Certificate with a School Administrator endorsement (or eligibility to obtain one).
  • Minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role (e.g., assistant principal, department chair, or instructional coach).
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Experience with school budgeting, staffing, and resource management.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in education.
