About the role
LEARN, Southeastern Connecticut's Regional Educational Service Center, is seeking a Special Education Supervisor to support our Programs and Schools. This is an exciting leadership opportunity for a passionate, systems-oriented professional committed to advancing inclusive, high-quality programming for students.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate program effectiveness and drive innovation in instructional practices and service delivery.
- Design and facilitate professional learning focused on evidence-based practices.
- Build leadership capacity across programs through modeling and collaboration.
- Ensure IEP implementation aligns with CT SDE standards and federal mandates.
- Maintain current knowledge of special education laws and best practices.
- Partner with LEAs and LEARN administrators to support PPT processes and student programming.
- Provide consultation and training to general education staff.
- Support systems such as MTSS and Section 504 implementation.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in special education or related services.
- Deep expertise in IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring.
- Demonstrated success coaching and developing staff and programs.
- Experience in elementary and/or early childhood settings (preferred).
Qualifications
- Valid certification in Special Education, School Psychology, Speech-Language Pathology, or related field.
- Master's degree in an appropriate educational discipline.
- Connecticut Administrator Certification required.
