About the role
Birch Academy is seeking dedicated and compassionate Special Education Substitute and Temporary Teachers to join our mission-driven team. We offer flexible contract options including 2-week engagements, 1-3 month assignments, and 6-month placements.
Responsibilities
- Implement individualized education programs (IEPs) with fidelity
- Deliver instruction aligned with student needs across academic, behavioral, and functional domains
- Work collaboratively with paras, related service providers, and behavior support teams
- Support classroom routines, data collection, and positive behavior supports
- Communicate clearly with staff and administrators during transition or coverage periods
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field required (Special Education preferred)
- NH Teaching Certification in Special Education (or eligible)
- Experience working with students with autism and/or developmental disabilities a plus
- Must be 18+ years old
- Must pass NH State and FBI background checks (CORI and fingerprinting required for onsite work)
- Clear communication, adaptability, and professionalism
