Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher from a recognized, accredited college or university
- Texas certification in Elementary or Secondary Education
- Texas certification in an area of special education preferred
- A minimum of three (3) years of successful experience as a classroom teacher
- Demonstrated ability to provide staff development, to integrate technology into classroom lessons, to use manipulatives to conceptually develop a mathematics concept, to develop and write curriculum, and to collaborate with district personnel
- Strong knowledge and understanding of state testing program including accommodations
- Demonstrated skill in leading, motivating, coaching and teaching other teachers
Terms Of Employment
Probationary/Term Contract: 197 days
Salary $67,640/IA-3 Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year.
Essential Functions
- Provide direct coaching, staff development sessions, model lessons, and assist teachers as they work to implement the secondary mathematics TEKS
- Attend and contribute to campus team planning sessions
- Consult with campus staff to interpret the TEKS, to analyze mathematics assessment results, and to plan effective instruction based on the needs identified through the data analysis process
- Support the team planning process by assisting in the development of assessments that are appropriate in depth and complexity of content, as well as aligned with classroom instruction and TEKS
- Observe and provide feedback to teachers regarding instructional practices and strategies in the form of peer coaching
- Collaborate with general education and special education staff members to ensure materials and staff development initiatives address identification needs
- Mentor new and/or struggling teachers while supporting experienced teachers as they work to implement staff development initiatives
