Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with special needs
- Aid in instructional activities under the direction of the teacher
- Support students with communication, mobility, and daily living skills
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment
- Document student progress and report observations to the teaching team
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Age – 18 years of age or older
- Education – High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required, AA or BA preferred. Competency in English writing and communication (e.g. speaking, reading and writing).
- Medical – Must have a physical and TB screening test prior to employment and routinely during employment as required.
- Live Scan Clearance – Must possess and maintain a clear DOJ and FBI clearance prior to and during employment.
Physical Requirements
- Pushing and Pulling – The Instructional Aide must be able to lift and or push at least 35lbs.
- Twisting and Turning – Due to the high activity of the program this position requires the individual to be able to physically bend, squat, reach over shoulders, reach over head, reach outward, kneel, sit, walk, run on normal, slippery, or uneven surfaces and stand.
- Safety Care – The Instructional Aide must be able to follow all Safety Care Procedures when needed.
