About the role
Supports students with autism spectrum disorder in a classroom setting under the supervision of a special education teacher.
Responsibilities
- Assists in the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Provides one-on-one assistance to students with autism spectrum disorder.
- Helps facilitate communication between students and teachers.
- Monitors student behavior and progress towards IEP goals.
- Participates in team meetings to discuss student progress and needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in special education or related field.
- Current certification as a special education paraprofessional.
- Experience working with students with autism spectrum disorder preferred.
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of autism spectrum disorder and its educational implications.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency in using assistive technology.
