Responsibilities

• Aid in bus transportation and classroom organization
• Provide assistance with personal care needs
• Support instruction in health and hygiene
• Perform delegated medical procedures
• Maintain classroom discipline and order
• Assist with lesson planning and reinforcement
• Communicate with special education teachers
• Operate classroom equipment and assist with assistive technology
• Record student progress and modify curriculum
• Implement non-violent behavioral intervention

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of 48 semester hours of credit at an accredited college or university
• Associate's degree or higher degree from an accredited college or university
• Pass the ParaPro Assessment with a score of at least 460

Qualifications

• Knowledge of students with various disabilities
• Ability to modify general education curriculum
• Experience with special education programs such as CLS, EC, MA, SIP, Strategies, IEC, IK, and Social Resource
• Skills in positive behavior management and communication
