About the role
A Special Education Teacher Support Services (SETSS), also known as a paraprofessional, is needed to assist approximately 25 high school students across all academic subjects during regular school hours throughout the upcoming school year.
Responsibilities
- Support students with their learning needs
- Assist in classroom activities and lessons
- Provide additional instruction as needed
- Work closely with teachers and other support staff
Requirements
- NYSED certification as an Intern or as a Teacher of Students with Disabilities or Literacy
- Experience working with students with special educational needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications
- Pass the NY City Department of Education background check
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed
Skills
- Knowledge of special education methodologies
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
