Responsibilities

• Assist in the supervision and instruction of students under the guidance of a certified teacher.
• Work with individual students or small groups in a classroom setting.
• Monitor students in various settings, including classrooms, playgrounds, cafeterias, and libraries.
• Provide support to the teacher and individualized assistance to students in high-needs Life Skills/Autism classrooms.
• Provide personal care support, including toileting and other hygiene-related needs.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least eighteen years of age.
• Must meet one of the following minimum qualifications for a paraprofessional:
  • Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university, or
  • Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university, or
  • Have passed the state paraeducator assessment.
• Job-related experience is desired.

Work Environment

The role requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and fine finger dexterity. The position involves approximately 34% sitting, 33% walking, and 33% standing. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and in a generally hazard-free environment.

Pay

$19.25 - $25.27 per hour (depending on experience).

Schedule

5 days per week, 6.5 hours per day.
