About the role

Buffalo Hearing & Speech is seeking Special Education Itinerant Teachers (SEIT) for flexible, part‑time positions across Western New York (Southtowns, Northtowns, Niagara County). You can create your own schedule, choosing when and how many cases to see. SEITs are paid per session: CPSE (preschool) 60‑minute sessions at $46/session and Early Intervention 30‑minute sessions at $39.50/session. Responsibilities

• Evaluate each child’s skill development using formal and informal skill development at program entry and provide quarterly updates.
• Design and implement individual lessons targeting readiness skills and model appropriate speech and language.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team (including regular education teachers) to implement and carry over IFSP/IEP goals.
• Assist children in classroom or home settings to encourage compliance with expectations.
• Gather monthly information from each child’s provider(s) for service coordination logs.
• Supervise and ensure children's safety alongside team members.
• Maintain regular contact with parents/guardians regarding child progress.
• Attend IFSP or CPSE meetings as needed.
• Accurately complete and submit required paperwork.

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited university or college in special education teaching.
• New York State teaching certification in Students with Disabilities Birth – Grade 2 OR Permanent New York State Special Education teaching certification.

Pay
